Lost Passport

In compliance with Nationwide Lockdown the Assistant High Commission(AHC) in Birmingham temporarily suspends providing over-the-counter services with effect from 04 January 2021(Monday).

However, the AHC will remain open and answer your queries over telephone. 

We shall be providing following services by post only:

# No Visa Required(NVR)

# Passport Re-issue (only if change of photo or taking fingerprints is not required) 

# Attestation (not Power of Attorney)

Following services, for which phisical presence is required, will remain suspended until the situation improves:

# New Passport (if the current passport is hand-written/applicant is below 20 and change of photo is required/lost passport)

# Power of Attorney( Or of this kind, for which physical presence of the applicant(s) in the Mission is required)

Bangladeshi Citizens living in the following areas can apply for Machine Readable Passport in Birmingham. 

 

Midlands: 

Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Hereford and Worchester, Salop, Gloucestershire. 

 

South Wales: 

Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Powys, Mid Glamorgan, South Glamorgan, Dyfed, Gwent. 

 

Requirements for New Passport against a lost passport:

 

  1. Filled in MRP application form. Affix one photo on the Application form which needs to be attested either by a Councillor, GP, Teacher or Solicitor. Half of the signature and seal should be on the photo and the other half on the application form. Also certification at Page no. 4 should be duly filled in and signed by the attester and seal of the attester must be printed there.

  2. Lost report from police.

  3. Photocopy of old passport (page 1-7).

  4. 17 Digit Birth Certificate duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

  5. Any available photo ID

  6. Physical presence of the applicant in the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Birmingham for an interview .

 

Requirements for New Passport Against Home Office reference:

 

  1. Filled in MRP application form. Affix one photo on the Application form which needs to be attested either by a Councillor, GP, Teacher or Solicitor. Half of the signature and seal should be on the photo and the other half on the application form. Also certification at Page no. 4 should be duly filled in and signed by the attester and seal of the attester must be printed there.

  2. Photocopy of old passport (page 1-7).

  3. An original Home Office letter mentioning the name and passport number of the applicant /copy of passport certified by the Home Office (in case the passport is retained by the Home office).

  4. 17 Digit Birth Certificate duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

  5. Any available photo ID

  6. Physical presence of the applicant in Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Birmingham for an interview.

 

* Birth Certificate has to be issued by the competent authority of Bangladesh and must be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.
